GATEWAY
The long-dormant, cow-spotted Gateway brand has been resurrected with a new line of laptops and tablets at Walmart, years after the once-dominant South Dakota-born company floundered and was acquired by Taiwan’s Acer in 2007.
Acer has now decided to bring back Gateway, and to market the products, the company has resurrected the cow spotted box logo. The products are designed for everyday consumers, students and “creators,” who pump out content or designs. Gateway currently produces laptops that range in price from $400 – $1100 and desktops that range from $700 to $1200. They have stayed up to date with technology and offer notebooks, all in one desktop, or the traditional tower packages. Customization is available and they are also in the forefront with touch screen technology. So, Gateway is still around and offering quality products.
As the Art Director at Social House Inc., I worked closely with the Strategy team to conceptualize and design social media assets, as well as paid media ads to promote Gateway’s relaunch.
