NUMBER 401
Sometimes content just doesn't receive the attention it deserves. This re-design of the original "Titanic: Building the World's Most Famous Ship" eschews the awkward sensationalism of that first effort and re-contextualizes the story into a design that portrays the craftsmanship, people, details that went into building one of the most famous ships in history—from how many rivets were used on the Titanic, to the real menus of the passengers' very last meal. The new title: "Number 401" refers to the ship's hull number, another way to emphasize its genesis as the "ship of dreams". The materiality of the leather cover and brass title plate also references the legendary reputation for lavish craftsmanship.
