Arthritis Foundation | Track + React App
With the TRACK + REACT app, users discover the impact of their daily activities on their arthritis pain. The app allows the user to track their nutrition, fitness, sleep, medication and mood and compare it to their arthritis pain. The goal is to help each user maximize their "spoons".
The “spoon theory” to describe pain is a common language for people who have arthritis. When healthy, one expects to have a never-ending supply of “spoons”, but when sick, there is a limited amount of spoons each day. Each daily task takes away one spoon.
This project was a collaborative class effort. Through research and group work, we were able to rebrand the Arthritis Foundation and give them a new voice. We helped to minimize the stereotype of arthritis being only an "old person's disease" and focused on the passions and hobbies of people. Our campaign reassured them that with help from the Arthritis Foundation, they would never have to give those things up just because of their arthritis. Their arthritis would not stop them from living life and doing the things they love.
